Favorite Home Office Desks
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve added a new post. Life has been a little crazy lately with lots of business/ministry travel, and a brand new grandbaby (that makes 6 grandsons). I’m still waiting on that first granddaughter. But today it’s all about favorite home office desks.
I wish my husband would let me “style” his home office, but it’s a for-real everyday working office, or you could call it a study. The only thing I do in there is dust, vacuum, etc. but I’m going to share it all anyway.
My husband has been a pastor for over 45 years. Where has the time gone? We’ve been at our current church for over 30 years. We are honored and humbled that God called us into the ministry.
Practical Christmas Gift
For Christmas, I gifted my husband a new desk His old one was in rough shape and had seen better days. It wasn’t an antique or anything so I had no problem getting rid of that thing. I also bought a new rug to go with the desk.
Part 2 of this post will include photos of his office but as I write this, it’s the day after Christmas.
After hosting my family (18 total) for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I’m taking the day off. (It’s going to be a good rainy day – perfect for reading and watching movies).
Let’s take a look at a few elements I incorporated in my husband’s office.
Bookcases
My husband has so many books! Some are antique and no longer published, so I knew he needed a lot of built-in storage.
We’ve been in our newly built modern farmhouse for a year and a half now and at first our cabinet guy didn’t see how bookcases would work in the office because of the window placement.
However, we put our heads together and came up with the perfect design. He built and installed the built-in bookcase and I chose Naval by Sherwin Williams paint for the bookcases because it’s a theme throughout my home (kitchen island, dining room ceiling, etc.)
Desk
My husband’s new desk is from Wayfair and it’s a beaut! The brand is Loon Peak Dravyn 68″ Desk. It’s a great price and includes white glove delivery. The delivery guys unpacked it, placed it in my husband’s office, and took away all the packaging.
New Rug
The new desk is the perfect fit for his office. I also purchased this rug to ground the space. The rug is now on clearance!
I’m also on the hunt for a new side chair for this office. The one in there now is the chair from our very first living room suite from the early 80s when we got married.
I’m seriously thinking about having the chair reupholstered. Then I’ll move it to a different room because it’s too big for that space.
That old chair is so comfortable, solid oak, and very well made.
