Farmhouse Ottomans and Poufs
Summer is flying by and since I’m a summer girl, I’m holding on and enjoying the ride. Also, I’ve been on the hunt for poufs or ottomans for extra seating and I’ll show you what I found.
Landscaping Update
We finally settled on a landscaping company. (Finally – yes!!) I am so ready to have trees and plants and flowers. And a lawn.
I actually went with the first landscaping company that submitted a design. I loved it from the get-go but I did get two more design proposals before making a decision. Just to be sure.
Just like everything else these days, landscaping is not cheap. I had no idea how much it would cost but we have to get the yard graded and all that stuff. If it was just planting a few flowers, trees, etc. I’d do it myself.
I’ll definitely take photos during the entire process and show the before and after photos here.
Note: We’ve been in our new house for a little over four months now. I’m sure people are wondering if we’re even planning on landscaping but these things take time.
I’m so glad I found a landscape designer that gets me and my vision (even if it was the first one I contacted!) 🙂
When it comes to something big like landscaping, don’t settle!
So, a change of subject coming up . . .
Farmhouse Ottomans & Poufs
A few days ago my new ottomans arrived. As you know, I decorate with a nod and a wink toward coastal decor without going overboard (since I’m two hours away from the coast). The woven rattan ottomans are perfect.
I had been looking for poufs but I couldn’t decide what kind I wanted. I’d find one I liked at Homegoods but they never had a set of two, it was always just one lone pouf.
So, then I happened to see the perfect ottoman in a Hobby Lobby ad. I couldn’t find them in any of the HL stores in my area, so I had to order them online.
These ottomans go well with my decor and even though I have them in front of the fireplace, they are easy to move around and seem to be very sturdy. We did have to attach the legs when they arrived.
They call it a woven rattan stool and it happens to be on clearance right now.
I heard a rumor that Hobby Lobby was phasing out their furniture so maybe that’s why it’s drastically on sale. I don’t earn any type of commission but click that link above for a great deal!
These won’t be around too much longer and they are actually less than the great deal I got.
I love my new ottomans and you can also see my fireplace mantel that came from an old barn built in the early 1800s.

Farmhouse Poufs And Ottomans – Perfect For Extra Seating
My two sofas (which I absolutely love, waited months for them to be made, and are now out of stock!) seat four each. I have two recliners that are so comfortable and aren’t ugly at all. So that’s seating for 10.
The ottomans add two extra seats so now I can easily seat 12 in my great room.
If you need extra seating, poufs or ottomans are perfect and they don’t take up a lot of space. They are lightweight and can easily be moved around.
For me, some ottomans and poufs are more comfortable than others. Since it’s usually the kids who sit on these things, they always love them.
Of course, you can also use these to prop up your feet!
