Valentine’s Day Decor And Gift Ideas
Can you believe Valentine’s Day is right around the corner? Since we didn’t make the “move in by Christmas” goal, I’m now shooting for Valentine’s Day. I’ll let you know if it happens. Meanwhile, I’m sharing Valentine’s Day Decor that I absolutely love.
But first . . .
Update On Modern Farmhouse Build
All of the white oak hardwood floors have been in for a few weeks. The tile is going down in the bathrooms and laundry room and all the cabinets should be in soon.
Most of the lighting has been installed. I had a couple of oops with lighting but it was all straightened out.
Below is a photo I snapped with my phone. It’s a little dark because they won’t take the film off of the windows until the end.
And Wayfair exchanged a damaged light fixture that I purchased last February. Shout out to Wayfair for working with me and helping to make things move right along!
Also, all of my kitchen appliances are finally in! It took a year but hey, kitchen appliances are complete.
The painters have to come back to sand and put a final coat of paint on the interior walls and trim. Floors have to be sanded and stained.
The septic tank is going in next week. Our GC found out that in our county, the septic tank has to be in before the electric boxes are inspected and then we have 30 days to complete the house.
And The List Goes On . . .
Also, decking (brushed concrete) is going down around the pool next week so we have a lot going on.
The fireplace has to be finished and the gas logs installed. HVAC, Plumbing, etc will be finished once the electricity is on.
It sounds like a lot but I believe it can all happen within the next six weeks. I’m just ready to get in my house and bid goodbye to all the workers. We’ve had some amazing guys and gals working on our house but I’m ready for it to be finished.
I’ve always said that building is not for sissies but building during 2021/2022 is even more challenging. God is good and all is well!
