Dark moody paint colors are all the rage these days so today I’m sharing my top 5 favorite dark moody paint colors.

Yes, I’m still a bright and light kind of girl. However, I like touches of dark moody colors here and there.

From deep green to charcoal, dark moody paint colors are having a comeback moment. Yes, everything old is new again. Let me explain.

Everything Old Is New Again

That blue-green gray paint color that’s so popular right now. I’ve seen it. I’ve had it. Back in the early 1990s.

Back in the 90s, my open-concept great room walls were Aegean Teal. That color was called something else back then and I can’t remember the name. I loved that color.

Like I mentioned earlier, I’m a light and bright girl now so I only want touches of dark moody colors.

Aegean Teal by Benjamin Moore

This color is still a favorite of mine after all these years.

Urbane Bronze by Sherwin Williams

Urbane Bronze is a dark moody color that plays well with contrasting colors like Sherwin Williams Messenger Bag or Modern Gray.

Amazon Soil – Benjamin Moore

Amazon Soil has a hint of black that keeps this mauve color fresh and not-your-mamas-mauve. It’s definitely prettier than the mauve carpet I had years ago. Ouch.

Hale Navy – Benjamin Moore

Blue is my favorite color and I’m particularly drawn to navy blue. My husband loves navy too so the build-ins in his office will be a dark moody blue. Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore is a favorite so I’m pretty sure that’s how we’ll roll.

Hale Navy is a classic and since I’m having nods and winks of my love for the coast, I think Hale Navy will be an excellent choice.

Sherwin Williams Iron Ore

Iron Ore is a very popular color and looks amazing on a front door or accent wall. Or, if you’re bold enough, an entire room painted with Iron Ore is striking.
