Favorite Kitchen Cabinet Colors
October has been crazy busy with the new house, soccer games (we, I mean, the grandkids are in the state playoffs!) and so much more. The kitchen cabinets are being installed so today I’m sharing my favorite kitchen cabinet colors.
It doesn’t look like we will be in the house by November. I really hope we will be in by Christmas. Of course, with all the delays, I’m blessed that we haven’t had to deal with too many building materials being on backorders. All is well!
Kitchen Cabinets are Going Up!
The porch columns are on back-order. The tongue and groove should be finished soon. Hopefully, the brick mason will be here today to build the fireplace surround.
And, the kitchen cabinets are going up. Well, the doors aren’t on yet but things seem to be moving along.
When it comes to a new build, there are some upgrades you dream about but aren’t willing to break the budget for, and then there are some things that are non-negotiable.
On my shortlist of non-negotiables is cabinets that go all the way up to the ceiling (there is room for the crown, of course).
The kitchen ceiling is 10′ tall so there’s room for stacked cabinets. I just love the look. (I don’t recommend cabinets to the ceiling with a standard 8′ ceiling.)
I’ll store seasonal items I don’t use that much in the upper cabinets. I almost did glass front cabinet doors but then I thought about having to clean them often and decided it was a big no for me.
Owner’s Closet (Master Closet) is done!
The owner’s closet is done. It just needs paint and pulls for the built-in drawers. The brick fireplace surround should be going up soon.
Next up is painting the interior and exterior and then floors will be installed. The painter said it would take a month to prep and paint.
After that, countertops, light fixtures, and all the finishing touches. I believe the end is in sight!
Favorite Kitchen Cabinet Colors
I decided early on that I was going with white cabinets and a dark navy island. It’s my jam and I love it. The cabinets are painted Pure White by Sherwin Williams. The island will be Naval, also by SW.
The vent hood cover is board and batten and will have a stained trim around the bottom. The stained trim is not up yet.
