Favorite Modern Farmhouse Doormats

Favorite Modern Farmhouse Doormats

Our modern farmhouse build is coming along nicely. We’ve had five straight days of sunshine and spring-like weather. This weather has me thinking about sitting on the porch. And, of course, my mind goes straight to porch decor and my favorite modern farmhouse doormats.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that the layered rug/doormat look is everywhere! And I have to admit that I’m in love with the look too.

Before we go into all things doormats, I’ll catch you up with the latest on our modern white farmhouse build.

The framing continues and they are now framing the upstairs including the bonus room. And, they have framed the vaulted ceilings in the master bedroom and my husband’s study. It’s looking so much more like a house these days.

The photo below of our bedroom is not straight. I promise, it’s not the vault, it’s all me and my crooked self. 🙂

And all the photos are taken with my phone.

The shingles were delivered last week but there’s still much work to be done before we have a roof. I pray my windows and doors will be here when the time comes for them to be installed.

My husband has been out of town all week so I’ve been making a solo trip to the new build every evening after the workers leave. I love seeing the daily progress. Man, those guys work hard!

I walked way out into the yard to get a photo of the entire front of the house. I’m going to get the back of the house today.

What’s The Best material for doormats?

Coir, made from the husks of coconuts, is generally the best material for an exterior doormat. Thick, scratchy doormats are ideal for scraping off the dirt. Coir doormats are also eco-friendly and long-lasting.

I”m definitely going to have a no-shoes-worn-in-the-house policy for the family. I won’t require guests to remove their shoes but if they want to, I certainly won’t discourage them.

Favorite Modern Farmhouse Doormats

My very favorite modern farmhouse doormat has words on them. I can’t help it. I’m crazy over the rug that has “I love your shoes.” I can’t help but smile every time I see one.

My very favorite and the one I’m pretty sure will be on my front porch is this doormat. I love everything about it.

From the classic “welcome” doormat to personalized doormats, I’ve got you covered. Happy doormat shopping!
