Modern Farmhouse Trend Out of Style?
If you google the question, “Is the modern farmhouse trend out of style?” you’ll get so many different answers. Yes, no, a little bit, maybe so.
If you follow new house builds over on Instagram, then the answer is a big fat no. Modern farmhouse is not going anywhere soon. Even if some interior designers are trying to make it happen.
Styles come and go. I’m at an age where I’ve pretty much seen it all and since modern farmhouse means different things to different people, we aren’t done yet.
People Are Escaping To The Country
I remember wanting to escape my small town as soon as I graduated from high school. I wanted the bright lights, big city life. So I moved to the city.
Fast forward a decade or two and I’m right back in a small town, living the country life.
These days, I’ve noticed that more and more people are escaping the cities and looking for wide, open spaces with a big yard. Country living is trending! Who would have thought?
I personally know two couples who have recently left the big city to find the peace and quiet of country life.
You may be one who enjoys the hustle and bustle of city life. I did! I loved the city life back in the day. And I never thought I’d end up back in a small town. Yet here I am . . . and loving it!
Some Reasons For Leaving The Big City Life
Peace and quiet
No traffic
Less stress
Yearning for a simple life
A slower pace of life
Less crime
More Affordable
The Modern Farmhouse Trend Is Not Out of Style
This style may evolve (goodbye shiplap?) but there will always be people like me who love the country lifestyle and the modern farmhouse style that goes with it.
Farmhouse style is a nod to simpler times and brings to mind all the sweet memories of my mom and grandma. Because farmhouse style means different things to different people, I don’t think it’s going anywhere.
Speaking of Modern Farmhouse . . .
Update On The New Build (Modern Farmhouse)
Unfortunately, there’s not much to tell. The insulation is complete. Yipee Ki-Yay! (I said that with a big eye roll)
Truthfully, nothing much has been done in the last two weeks. The exterior porch steps were built . . . almost. The laundry room porch steps have not been completed because the brick mason ran out of solid bricks and is waiting for the general contractor.
From my understanding, the brick mason works for several contractors and so he’s crazy busy.
Hopefully, the drywall will start soon. I know it will happen eventually and I’m just ready to get this build over with.
